Welcome to Fort Settlement Middle School, home of the Falcons! I am Mrs. Shannon Fields, and I teach 6th grade ELA!
I am a native Houstonian!. I graduated from Ross Sterling High School and the University of Houston - Central (Go Coogs) with a Bachelor of Science in Education and from the University of Houston - Victoria (Go Jaguars) with a Masters of Education and Mid-Management Certification. My birthday is November 20th. When I am not teaching, I enjoy scrapbooking, reading, shopping and hanging out with family. I also enjoy spending time with my family. I am married and have 3 kids: my daughter Shelby is a Freshman at Clements High School, my daughter Rikyah is in the 3rd grade and son RJ is in Pre-K.
My teaching career began 18 years ago at Townewest Elementary as a fourth grade teacher. I taught 4th grade for 3 years. Then it was on to middle school!! I’m proud to say that I have been at “The Fort” since the school opened 15 years ago!
Sixth grade is going to be an exciting transition for you! My goal is to make sure that you learn all of the required skills in a classroom that is safe and includes engaging activities, challenging assignments, teamwork and laughter!
